ABOUT THE ROLE

The Telecommunications Technician is part of the Mine Maintenance Sector’s team and reports to the Electrical Supervisor. He is responsible of installation and maintenance of the telecommunications network and of all teleoperation system

DESCRIPTION

  • Maintain and install the VHF/UHF telecom network and cable modems
  • Maintain the telecom network plans up to date
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the remote control system for the shuttle loaders and other remotely controlled machines
  • Maintain the Scoop-Cam Systems
  • Maintain communications radios, winch micro-cage system and Smart Blast Box
  • Collaborate with the IT department in order to comply with the company in term of cyber security
  • Comply with and apply the work and occupational health and safety procedures, aswell as those related to the environment and surrounding communities
  • Support different project in order of archiving operation excellence
  • Perform all other tasks related to the performance of your duties

REQUIREMENTS

  • College-level diploma in instrumentation and control, telecommunications or another relevant field
  • Minimum five (10) years’ experience in the mining or industrial field
  • Valid explosives permit
  • Mining modules, licence, card
  • Bilingualism
  • Knowledge of the telecom system (CMTS)

  • Ability to work in a remote location and in a multicultural environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days off
  • Eleonore mine site
