Mentored Work Placements

Guided Development Through Hands-On Experience

This program offers wage subsidies and mentorship for out-of-school youth to enhance employability skills and support educational and career development.

It can be difficult for youth to enter the labour market. Employers demand skills and experience that are hard to come by, when you are just starting to make your way in the world.

Taking advantage of the Mentored Work Placements program can give participants an excellent head-start, allowing them to develop skills, gain experience and network with individuals that are already in their desired field.

ASD will assist recipients by funding:

  • Participant wages and mandatory employment related costs (MERCs)
  • Training costs
  • Travel expenses
  • And other costs related to the work (contact ASD for more info.)

Through this program, ASD has helped to support hundreds of participants throughout Eeyou Istchee to gain valuable experience and skills at this critical juncture in their lives.

If Mentored Work Placements would help the youth of your community to grow into positive and productive workers, please apply today.
