Science & Technology

Support for STEM Initiatives

This program provides youth with the opportunity to feel connected to science and technology and to view them as viable career and education choices.

Science and Technology are major drivers of economic activity and innovation, in the Cree Nation and the world at large.

This program is designed to introduce the youth of Eeyou Istchee to the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), by funding educational programs, science camps and clubs that can kindle a passion for learning and invention.

FOR APPLICANTS

Organizations

ASD will support organizations by helping to cover the costs of facility rentals, career promotion materials, speakers fees and more. Travel costs and admission fees are also funded for students and chaperones.

With the present rate of technological advancement, it has become more important than ever to introduce youth to science and technology at a young age. By fostering awareness of the educational and professional opportunities provided by an interest in science and technology, the youth of Eeyou Istchee will be well positioned to take advantage of the technical careers that are in demand in the health, education and extraction industries.

Any entity with the capacity and the passion to share the wonders of Science and Technology with our youth are encouraged to apply.
