NATURE OF WORK

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Instructional Services, the principal and customary work of the employee in this class of employment consists of performing the tasks of Executive Secretary.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

Carries out duties such as:  the accurate transcription, on Microsoft Word, and other software of texts and letters from manuscripts or various sources;

Keeps records and registers up-to-date;

Gives general information over the telephone;

Compose simple letters;

Seeks out and collects information to be included in reports and correspondence;

Duplicates and photocopies documents;

Assists in the execution of certain clerical duties and is responsible for replying to questions within his competence to and for his supervisor. This person keeps his supervisor’s calendar up to date and sets up appointments;

Organizes and prepares material for meetings and when necessary, attends meetings and writes up reports;

Is responsible for entering of information pertaining to the CSB exams and end of cycle evaluation results, organizing information in preparation for centralized marking centers;

In certain instances, supervises the work of office employees and trains new personnel, distributes work and verifies the work;

If need be, performs any other related task.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To have completed a secondary V course with an appropriate option or hold an attestation of studies that is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

At least four (4) years of relevant experience are required.

To have knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Software and the setting up of texts.

To have sufficient knowledge of the methods and practices used in running an office.

Bilingualism (English and Cree) is required.

Knowledge of the French language is an asset.

Regular Full-Time
