Job Description

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSTING

The CHIBOUGAMAU EENOU FRIENDSHIP CENTRE invites applications for the Executive Director position. The Centre seeks a highly motivated incumbent with the qualifications and skills required to ensure the overall provision of culturally relevant programming to its membership. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director manages all aspects of the Chibougamau Eenou Friendship Centre.

DUTIES

  • Work with the Board of Directors to develop a strategic plan, manage its facilities and operations, and develop an operational plan that incorporates goals and objectives that align with the Centre’s strategic direction.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Centre’s programs and services, ensuring they contribute to its mission and reflect the Board’s priorities.
  • Work with staff and the Board to prepare a comprehensive budget. Oversee the Centre’s financial management, including budget requests and controls, and provide regular reports to the Board.
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with our membership, stakeholders, and funders.
  • Communicate the Centre’s goals, objectives, and activities to its membership and stakeholders using appropriate communication tools and language(s).
  • Research funding sources, oversee fundraising development, and plan and write funding proposals. Provide funding reports as requested by funders, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Determine the Centre’s staffing requirements. Implement a performance management process for all staff, which includes training, monitoring, and managing staff performance on an ongoing basis and conducting an annual performance review.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Business Management degree or related field of experience or years of experience working for non-profit organisations in Indigenous settings.
  • Ability to communicate and positively interact with diverse stakeholders in English and French. Cree is an asset.
  • The knowledge, ability, and skills to administer the Centre, provide dynamic and culturally relevant programming, and ensure staff and operational efficiency.
  • Must also be willing to work flexible hours (special events).
  • Able to provide an up-to-date criminal background check.

SALARY

Full-time, permanent. Salary will be remunerated according to salary scale as per qualifications and experience.

LOCATION

Chibougamau, Quebec.
