Wachiya Cashier

As a Cashier at Wachiya, you will be the front-line representative of our store, providing exceptional customer service and support in processing transactions and assisting customers with their inquiries. You will also play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Location: Old Montreal, QC

Job Type: Part-Time/Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and provide friendly and efficient service throughout their shopping experience.
    • Assist customers in locating products, answering inquiries about merchandise, and offering recommendations as needed.
    • Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Cash Handling
    • Operate cash register and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment.
    • Count cash at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accurate drawer balances and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Product Knowledge
    • Maintain a basic understanding of store products, including artists, artisans, and their creations, to assist customers with inquiries and promote sales.
    • Stay informed about promotions, sales, and special events happening in the store to effectively communicate information to customers.
  • Store Maintenance
    • Keep the checkout area clean and organized, including the counter, cash register, and surrounding areas.
    • Assist with restocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and maintaining overall store cleanliness to enhance the shopping environment.
  • Compliance and Security
    • Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety protocols, cash-handling procedures, and security measures.
    • Report and incidents, discrepancies, or safety hazards to management promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in operating a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
