NATURE OF WORK

Sabtuan Adult Education Services is seeking a dynamic, experienced professional teach the Pharmacy Technical Assistance program in the Cree Nation of Chisasibi. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, along with a professional demeanour, and has a proven ability to transmit information in a clear, professional, and understandable manner.

The instructor will prepare the course, deliver material, and evaluate students through the completion of the program. They will communicate details about attendance and student progress to Sabtuan Adult Education Services administrators and maintain the safety of their teaching environment.

Individuals who have previously worked as a teacher/trainer in a health care facility, or who have a strong interest in helping others learn the skills to become a pharmacy technical assistant, are strongly encouraged to apply

About the program:

The Pharmacy Technical Assistance program prepares a person to practice the trade of pharmacy technical assistance in a health establishment as well as in a community pharmacy.

The pharmacy technical assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a pharmacist and assists in filling prescriptions, managing patient files and performs work related technical tasks related to preparing medications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in English is required for the contracted position English this is the language of instruction.
  • Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in technical assistance in pharmacy technical assistance or a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a doctorate in pharmacy from a Canadian University.
  • Valid qualifications for teaching in Quebec are a definite asset.
  • Having work experience in aboriginal environment is an asset.
  • 5 years of experience is needed.

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

We offer our teachers generous compensation, which includes salary, northern allowance, retention premium, subsidized (furnished) housing, paid trips home, training, and more.

Salary* (min – $42,431.00 – max $82,585.00)

Additional benefits may include:

Northern Allowance* ($8,484 -$13,573.00)
Retention Premium* ($3,500 – $5,000)

*Ranges and additional benefits are subject to
qualifications and collective agreement.

 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Contractual position according to collective agreement conditions.
