Schedule: 7 days of work followed by 7 days off

Location: Renard Mine

Home port: Val-d’Or, Chibougamau-Chapais, St-Hubert and Quebec airports

Stornoway is recruiting a Senior Mining Surveyor. Reporting to the Chief Surveyor, you will work closely with the Mining Engineering and Operations team. You will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Plan, organize, design and follow up on underground and open pit mining operations;
  • Coordinate the interactions between the various departments;
  • Supervise the team of surveyors and ensure the quality of the information provided;
  • Produce monthly progress reports on operations;
  • Perform follow-ups and plan orders for the various consumables required;
  • Perform all other tasks that the Chief Surveyor deems necessary to ensure the efficient conduct of activities.

Profile required

  • You have training in surveying or a college diploma in mineral technology with a minimum of 5 years experience in a open pit or underground operation;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks in a context of tight deadlines;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and French;
  • Hold the mining worker’s modular training (1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5 and 7) and a general explosives permit;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Knowledge of software such as, Autocad and Promine is an asset;
  • Ability to work in a team;
