The Superintendent, Human Resources is responsible for supporting the mining operation in the development, implementation and application of Newmont’s programs, policies and procedures regarding human resources. The Superintendent, Human Resources plays a key role in the administration of labour relations and adheres to the company’s values, which are safety, integrity, sustainable development, inclusion and responsibility.


  • Plan, organize, direct and coordinate your sector’s activities.
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation and update of the organization’s human resources policies, procedures and systems.
  • Participate actively in the Employment and Training Committee of the Collaboration Agreement with the Cree First Nation of James Bay, so as to promote and stimulate the attraction, retention and development of the Indigenous workforce at the Éléonore Mine.
  • Support the organization in the administration of performance management, compensation and labour relations.
  • Support the organization in planning workforce needs.
  • Advise and support the supervisors in the interpretation and administration of the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Support and advise the supervisors in labour relations or disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure legal compliance of the activities related to human resources at the Éléonore Mine.
  • Respect, know and promote the company’s values, rules and policies.
  • Participate in solving problems related to your sector or another related sector.
  • Manage the personnel, evaluate performance and see to employee development in your sector.
  • Work in close collaboration with the different corporate departments, such as Payroll, Recruitment, Total Compensation, Benefits, etc.
  • Perform all other tasks related to the performance of their duties



  • University degree in human resources or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in the mining or industrial field
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Bilingualism mandatory

  • Schedule: 8 days of work followed by 6 days of rest, 4 days of work followed by 3 days of rest
  • Eleonore mine site
