JOB TITLE: 1 FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER

JOB SUMMARY
Under the immediate supervision and direction of the General Manager but more specifically the Head Housekeeper, the Housekeeper (HK) will be responsible to ensure the cleanliness of rooms and public spaces in the Hotel.
OVERVIEW OF MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow and apply Hotel standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and other related policies and procedures;
- Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms and may assist with public areas;
- Acknowledge and greet guests in public spaces with a respectful manner;
- Clean assigned hotel rooms: dust, sweep, vacuum, change bed linens, take out garbage, wash windows, clean bathrooms, and kitchenette when applicable;
- Assist with the sorting, washing, loading, unloading laundry and ironing linen and distribute as needed;
- May assist with cleaning corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators and lounges as needed;
- Operate and maintain mechanized cleaning equipment and other related equipment;
- Report necessary maintenance repairs and replacements;
- Review daily inventory of supplies and rooms;
- Report any damages or broken equipment to immediate supervisor;
- Maintain, clean, fill and organize the housekeeping cart and the supply room on a daily basis;
- Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms;
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Experience in housekeeping and/or relevant field is an asset
- SIMDUT certification or willing to take training
- Fluency in Cree, English and French is an asset
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods is an asset
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Punctual and reliable
- Able to work in a team environment
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Able to do light lifting, endure long periods of being on his/her feet
- Must have excellent attention to details
- Able to work quickly and prioritize without compromising quality
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Permanent Full-time status
- 35 hrs per week
- 3-month probation period
- Benefits according to Waastooskuun HR policies and procedures
- Work shift may include weekends and holidays as schedule
- Frequently working with chemicals and disinfectant products
SALARY
Grade 5: starting rate of $16.29/hr to a maximum of $24.07/hr based on qualifications and experience
