Job Title: 1 Full-Time Housekeeper

Job Summary
Under the immediate supervision and direction of the General Manager, the Head Housekeeper (HHK) will be responsible to direct and coordinate the daily operations of a housekeeping and laundry services department to ensure guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. The HHK conducts inspections of facilities and recommends repairs and upgrades when needed and ensures compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
OVERVIEW OF MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow and maintain hotel standards for cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas;
- Cleaning of hotel rooms including: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens,
cleaning bathrooms;
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuum, etc.;
- Monitor and report necessary maintenance repairs and replacements;
- Organize work schedule from the occupancy list; arrivals, departure and in-house list;
- Review daily inventory of rooms before arrivals and after departures;
- Inspect and turn mattresses regularly;
- Check and clean all appliances and ensure that all are in working order.
Immediately report any damage or broken equipment;
- Review daily and monthly inventory of supplies;
- Delegate Housekeeping staff to fill and organize the housekeeping cart and the
supply room on a daily basis;
- Participate to mandatory related training or as requested by immediate supervisor;
- Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms;
- Follow safety and security procedures;
- Supervise and train housekeeping staff, preparing schedules, assigning duties, and providing guidance and performance feedback;
- Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies, coordinating and recommending order for replacements;
- Respond to guest requests, inquiries, and issues and manage with Front Desk Clerk the lost and found; Collaborate with front desk to prepare housekeeping list
- Coordinate and/or facilitate housekeeping staff training on standard operating procedures, safety policies, and health/sanitation regulations;
- Inspect all guest rooms twice a day to ensure they are cleaned – before noon and before check-in 3pm to ensure compliance to company procedures and health/sanitation standard;
- Assign workers to specific rooms or floors at the beginning of the day;
- Find replacements as needed according to the occupancy rate;
- Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility;
- Perform any other related tasks or assigned tasks by immediate supervisor.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of two (2) year experience in a supervisory position is preferred
- SIMDUT certification, Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods is an asset
- Fluency in Cree, English and French is an asset

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Permanent status position
- 35 hrs per week
- 3-month probation period

- Work shift may include weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Endure long periods of being on his/her feet.
