JOB INFORMATION:
Position: Grocery Retail Trainer
Sector of Activity: Retail
Immediate Supervisor: Multidisciplinary Business Partner
Mandate: Permanent
JOB SUMMARY:
Whale-Mart is a general store located in Kuujjuarapik with approximately 30 employees.
In collaboration with various departments, the grocery retail trainer is in charge of developing the team in place to ensure the operational, commercial and human management of the store.
He (she) will have to ensure employee development in terms of determining and updating selling prices, loss management, benchmark, sales and promotions, stock management, recruitment, integration and employee development, etc.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales:
- Train employees on determining store sales prices based on cost structure, benchmark and sales
- Train employees on discount sales strategies
- Train employees on determining profit margins
Customer Service:
- Train employees on customer service (greeting customers, helping customers find items, etc.)
- Train employees on the brand image of the store
Marketing:
- Train employees on the marketing strategies to be implemented
- Train employees on promotional strategies
Merchandising:
- Train employees on merchandising strategies
- Train employees on the basic rules of merchandising
- Train employees on the use of the store management system
Stock Management:
- Train each section manager on the orders to be carried out in their respective sections
- Train section managers on stock rotation in their section
- Train the section managers on how to display stocks in the store
Human Resources:
- Develop the leadership of section managers
- Train section managers on staff mobilization techniques
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in a similar position
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Good coaching and teaching skills
- French language skills (asset)
- Knowledge of the grocery market
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse work teams
- Have good communication and HR skills
- Have good organizational skills
SCHEDULE AND WORKPLACE:
- 12 days of work – 10 hrs/day at Whapmagoostui (Kuujjuarapik), including a weekend
- 16 days in your area including 3 workdays per week (7 hours) at the administrative office in Laval
- A total of 40.5 hours/week
