The Director of School Operations, reporting to the Deputy Director General of Pedagogy, is responsible for the supervision, support, and evaluation of all School Principals in the Cree School Board Youth Sector. With the School Operations team, training, development and guidance are provided in the areas of:administrative tasks, pedagogical leadership, school improvement, instructional coaching and supervision of instruction to Principals and VicePrincipals.

The Director also collaborates closely with other youth sector directors, coordinators, departments, as well as other partners and entities in alignment with their core responsibilities.



This position comprises the following responsibilities:

The supervision and evaluation of school principals in their implementation of educational and administrative policies of the Board in conformity with their responsibilities;

The familiarization of new school principals or viceprincipals with policies and programs of the Board, as well as with their tasks;

To ensure the successful development, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of Local School Improvement Plans (LSIPS) aimed at achieving measurable improvements in student achievement;

Leads the School Operations team in areas of strategic importance: school improvement, student success, student engagement, and data management;

The identification of professional development needs of school principals and vice-principals;

Visits schools throughout the year to provide in person support, guidance, and coaching;

To ensure school and student data is appropriately collected, managed, analysed, and reported on, and that student data is used to influence Board and school decisions aimed at improving student achievement;

To supervise the preparation of teacher allocations throughout the Board, ensuring that the appropriate consultations are carried out with School Principals and the departments of Finance and Human Resources;

The advising of school principals and vice-principals on policies and implementation of school organization and supervision;

To collaborate with the other senior managers of the Board to ensure alignment of Board goals and school needs with the services and support offered by the other departments of the Board;

To coordinate the working relationships between the School Principals and Vice-Principals with the various departments and services of the Board and with the Cree regional entities;

To collaborate with the Deputy Director General of Operations on the effective working relationship between the Community Education Administrators (CEAs) and School Principals;

The participation in the management of the Board through the Cree School Board Management Group;

The carrying out of any related duties as assigned by the Deputy Director General of Pedagogy.



Bachelor degree in relevant field of study;

Five (5) years of experience as School Manager with at least three (3) years as School Principal;

Brevet issued by the Minister of Education;

Fluency in English;

French and Cree language speaking and fluency are determining assets.



Regular, Full-time position

Annual salary: $99,629 – $132,836

Northern Allowance: $8,484.00 to $13,573.00
