NATURE OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Director General, the position of Director of Post Secondary Student Services includes the responsibility of administration, planning, organization, control and evaluation of the program and services.
CHARACTERISTIQUES FUNCTIONS
To administer, manage and evaluate the PostSecondary and Adult Off-Community Programs of the Board;
To promote post-secondary education;
Continued implementation of the departmental action plans in alignment with the CSB 5-Year Strategic Action Plan;
To screen the selection of applicants to the postsecondary and Adult Off-Community Programs of the Board and to submit a list of such applicants to the Council of Commissioners for approval;
To participate in the formulation of objectives and policies of these programs;
To prepare and control the budget of this program;
To plan, organize and evaluate all aspects of the Post-Secondary and Adult Off-Community educational and professional counselling services;
To supervise and evaluate all professional and support personnel of the program;
To work with all Cree School Board departments, Cree and other entities and educational institutions on matters related to post-secondary education;
Participation in the overall Management Team;
To perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time by the Director General.
Other/ working conditions
Travel is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study;
Eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least three (3) years in a senior staff position;
Bilingual (Cree – English);
Working knowledge of French is an asset.
Must be a Beneficiary of the James Bay Northern Quebec Agreement.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS*
Regular, Full-time position
Annual salary: $99,629 – $132,836
Retention allowance: $8,484.00 to $13,573.00
Other benefits and working conditions according to the By-Law regarding the Conditions of Employment of Management staff of the CSB.
*Given the current salary regulations and guidelines at the Cree School Board, candidates from another Quebec School Board will be able to obtain a salary as per the scale above-mentioned. However, candidates that are not from the education sector are not eligible to a salary above the midpoint of the position’s salary scale.
