Job Description

JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

DATE OF POSTING: June 16 2021

END OF POSTING: June 30, 2021 at 5:00 pm

(CONTRACT – 18 months)
JOB SUMMARY
Under the immediate supervision and direction of the Chief Operating Officer; the Director of Human Resources (DHR) is responsible to develop and implement HR strategies, policies and practices that are aligned with and support the execution capability of the company-wide strategic plan. The DHR will develop capacity building initiatives; identify and organize training and development opportunities that enhance performance at the individual and company level; as well as possessing the ability to provide counsel to employees and management on a variety of employee relations and compliance issues for CBDG Inc. and its subsidiaries.
Subsidiaries include: Chisasibi Auto Repair Services (CARS), Chisasibi Centre Inc (CCI), Gestion CBCC, Hotel Waastooskuun Inc, Maheux-Cree Bus Service, and Miichiwaap Restaurant Inc.
OVERVIEW OF MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities;
  • Responsible for leading, directing and coordinating the activities of Human Resources in the areas of:
    • Recruitment and Selection;
    • Administrations:
    • Human Relations & Communications;
    • Benefits & Compensations;
    • Training & Development;
    • Organizational Restructuring;
    • Human Resources Policies & Procedures;
    • Human Capital Management Software (Dayforce);
    • Government compliances;
    • other related human resource functions to ensure these services meet the individual needs of each employee in accordance with HR policies;
  • Work in collaboration with Managers of each subsidiary in applying Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, safety of the workforce and goal attainment;
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as per describe in the job description.

 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Industrial Relations or College diploma in Business Administration, concentration in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years in managerial work experience, preferably in HR
  • Committed to upholding professional standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; word, excel, outlook
  • Working knowledge in HR management software
  • Fluency in Cree, English, and French is an asset

 

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs
  • Database management and record keeping
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills and team player
  • Stress tolerance

 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Temporary Full-time
  • Eighteen (18) months contract
  • Thirty-five (35) hours per week
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Mainly work in an office setting

 

SALARY

  • Grade 11: starting at $71,307.60 annually (39.18/hr), based on qualifications and experience
