NATURE OF THE WORK
The position of Coordinator of Response to Intervention comprises all the duties required for the coordination, supervision, evaluation, monitoring, research and development of the CSB Response to Intervention Initiative.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in the formulation and coordination of the objectives and action plans of the Board dealing with Response to Intervention:
Areas of RTI Action Plan
- Implementation Process and Structure: To create RTI organizational structures and processes which support the consistency of the RTI and Early Intervention implementation across the Board and ensures quality common practices are employed;
- CSB RTI Monitoring Systems: To establish common monitoring systems to record the changes, challenges and successes of the RTI process and measure student learning;
- RTI Sustainability Measures: To ensure that the RTI process is maintained through the development and distribution of school and board wide sustainability measures;
- RTI Communication and Collaboration Plan: To ensure the inclusion of all stakeholders in the RTI process through regular collaboration and communication of all essential RTI processes and protocols;
- Provides consultation and information to the teachers, administrators, managers, directors, school committees and commissioners on matters related to Response to Intervention;
- Coordinates, supervises and evaluates pedagogical counselors regarding the implementation and monitoring of the CSB RTI Initiative;
- Coordinates the research and the development of the RTI processes, support measures and monitoring systems;
- Coordinates with external RTI consultants;
- Manages RTI files and documentation;
- Under the direction of the Director of Complementary Services prepares the components of the Complementary Services budget that are related to Responsive to Intervention as well as implements and monitors these aspects of the budget approved by the Council;
- Works with school administrations, on models for RTI Implementation for the three tiers of RTI, Tier 1
- Core Instruction, Tier 2, Supplemental, Tier 3, Intensive;
- Participates in preparing, negotiating and implementing contracts and service agreements with external consultants; – Represents, upon request, the school board or the administrative unit in matters related to his sector of activity;
- Performs any additional related duty as required by the Director of Education
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty notably in special education;
- Permanent teaching permit issued by the Minister of Education (Brevet);
- Five (5) years of experience in a similar position;
- Must demonstrate strong teaching abilities, classroom management, methodology and knowledge of M.E.E.S. programs;
- Fluency in Cree is an asset;
- Fluency in English is a requirement;
- Fluency in French is a requirement;
- Availability to travel
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Regular, Full-time position
- Annual salary: $84,166.00 to $112,219.00
- Northern Allowance: $8,484.00 to $13,573.00
*Given the current salary regulations and guidelines at the Cree School Board, candidates from another Quebec School Board will be able to obtain a salary as per the scale above-mentioned. However, candidates that are not from the education sector are not eligible to a salary above the midpoint of the position’s salary scale.
