NATURE OF WORK

The Coordinator of School Operations reports to and assists the Director of School Operations in coaching, supporting, training, and guiding the youth sector Principals and Vice-Principals leading our schools.

As a member of the School Operations team, the incumbent works closely with individual school leaders to ensure they meet the administrative and pedagogical aspects of their roles. This position also collaborates closely with other youth sector coordinators, departments, as well as other partners and entities in alignment with their core responsibilities.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

This position comprises the following responsibilities:

Assisting the school principals in the implementation of educational and administrative policies of the Board in conformity with their responsibilities;

The familiarization of new school principals and viceprincipals with policies and programs of the Board, as well as with their tasks;

The identification of training needs of school principals and vice-principals and to report these to the Director of School Operations;

The advising of school principals and vice-principals on policies and implementation of school organization and supervision;

To coordinate the working relationships between the School Principals and Vice-Principals with the various departments and services of the Board and with the Cree regional entities;

Collaborates with the Principals and Vice-Principals on school projects and success plans;

Collaborates with other members of School Operations team in areas of strategic importance: school improvement, student success, student engagement, and data management;

Provides educational leadership coaching to Principals and Vice-Principals;

Visits schools throughout the year to provide in person support, guidance, and coaching;

The carrying out of any related duties as assigned by the Director of School Operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in relevant field of study;

Five (5) years of experience as School Manager with at least three (3) years as School Principal;

Brevet issued by the Minister of Education;

Fluency in English;

French and Cree language speaking and fluency are determining assets.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Regular full time position.
35 hours/week
This position requires travelling in each community during the regular school year

SALARY

Regular Full-time position.
Annual Salary: $84,166.00 to $112,219.00
Northern Allowance: $ 8,484.00 – $ 13,573.00

*Given the current salary regulations and guidelines at the Cree School Board, candidates from another Quebec School Board will be able to obtain a salary as per the scale above-mentioned. However, candidates that are not from the education sector are not eligible to a salary above the midpoint of the position’s salary scale.
