Coordinator of Cree Programs

NATURE OF WORK

Under the authority of the Director of Education Services, the position of coordinator of Cree Programs comprises all the duties required for the coordination, supervision, evaluation, research and development of Cree Resources in the Board.

 

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

Participates in the formulation of the objectives and policies of the Board.

Provides curricular support and services to ensure implementation of all pedagogical aspects of the Board’s Strategic Plan and the School Improvement Plan.

Provides program support and information to the teachers, principals, School Committees and Commissioners.

Provides information regarding the application of the pedagogical and the certification process in conjunction with Data Management.

Coordinates, supervises and evaluates pedagogical counselors regarding the implementation and the adaptation of and support to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education of Quebec and Cree School Board approved policies and programs; the research and the development of didactic material and also the evaluation of students level of acquisitions and, in conjunction with school administration, the appropriate orientation of the new teachers to CSB programs.

Ensures preparation of the overall budget of Cree Programs as well as the implementation of the budget approved by the Council.

Develops implements and maintains pedagogical supports the Cree School Board Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum; including program elaboration which specifies clear standards for learning, required and suggested didactic materials, and assessments.

Participates in the direction and management of Education Services.

Accomplishes any additional related duty as required by the Director of Education Services.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate university degree in a relevant field of study; notably in education Creee Literacy certificate.

Five (5) years of experience in the education sector.

A permanent teaching permit issued by the Minister of Education (Brevet) of Quebec.

Bilingualism (English – Cree).

Knowledge of French is an asset.

 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Regular, full-time position. 35 hrs/week

Salary: Minimum: $84,166.00 – Maximum: $112,219.00

Northern Allowance: $8,484.00 – $13,573.00

*Salary to be established according to current Compensation Policy and By-Law respecting the Conditions of Employment of Management Staff of the Cree School Board.
