Job Description

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, design and execution of construction projects to develop and improve underground mining infrastructures. He/she also performs QA/QC visits and coordinates construction activities. 

DESCRIPTION 

  • Design, review, and approve detailed construction plans in compliance with safety standards and regulations in force 
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of all phases of construction projects:
    • Planning and scheduling 
    • Compliance reports 
    • Resource allocation 
    • Cost management 
  • QA/QC visits of construction works 
  • Establish construction project budgets, follow up and provide project cost forecasts 
  • Manage tenders and material orders for construction projects 
  • Respect, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, particularly those related to health and safety 
  • Perform any tasks related to the position 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction engineering 
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in construction project management, preferably in underground environments 
  • Modular training for miners (modules 1 to 5 and 7) 
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec 
  • Valid general explosives permit 
  • Good computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite and Deswik (an asset) 
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)

  • Schedule : 8 days of work followed by 6 days off 
  • Eleonore mine site (Fly-in, Fly-out)
