Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, design and execution of construction projects to develop and improve underground mining infrastructures. He/she also performs QA/QC visits and coordinates construction activities.
DESCRIPTION
- Design, review, and approve detailed construction plans in compliance with safety standards and regulations in force
- Coordinate and monitor the progress of all phases of construction projects:
- Planning and scheduling
- Compliance reports
- Resource allocation
- Cost management
- QA/QC visits of construction works
- Establish construction project budgets, follow up and provide project cost forecasts
- Manage tenders and material orders for construction projects
- Respect, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, particularly those related to health and safety
- Perform any tasks related to the position
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction engineering
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in construction project management, preferably in underground environments
- Modular training for miners (modules 1 to 5 and 7)
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
- Valid general explosives permit
- Good computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite and Deswik (an asset)
- Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
