Job Description
Position: Building mechanic
Department: Maintenance
Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days off
Location: Val d’Or, Chibougamau-Chapais, Québec and St-Hubert Airports
Under the supervision of the Electrical and Building Foreman, the building mechanic is responsible of the maintenance and repair of the HVAC equipment as well as building mechanical systems on the Renard mine site.
Main responsibilities
- Perform the installation, the general maintenance and the necessary adjustments for the proper functioning of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment (industrial, commercial and residential);
- Perform maintenance on various buildings (dormitories, kitchen, pumping stations, water treatment station, industrial buildings) and the auxiliary systems related (garage doors, fire system, heating cable control panel, gas detection system, kitchen appliances);
- Perform, on refrigeration equipment, the necessary adjustments and filling of HFC and CO2 refrigerant gases;
- Ability to solve problems related to natural gas heating units and make the necessary repairs;
- Properly perform the work orders in the CMMS system;
- Respect laws, standards, regulations and work procedures;
- Perform all other related duties.
Qualifications required
- Relevant experience in HVAC and refrigeration equipment maintenance or similar;
- Certificate in gas appliance technology TAG or TERAG (asset);
- D.E.P in refrigeration (asset);
- CCQ skills card (asset);
- Certificate of environmental qualification Halocarbure;
- Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical principles;
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems;
- Ability to read and interpret plans;
- Valid class 5 driver’s license;
- Interest and ability to work in an industrial environment;
- Self-reliance and resourcefulness;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to perform tasks;
- Ability to work proactively and efficiently;
- Versatility and flexibility in the tasks to be performed;
- Exemplary attitude towards health and safety in the workplace;
- Ability to communicate by radio in French and English.
