OPEN POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN – ADULT EDUCATION

NATURE OF WORK
Under the responsibility of the Director of Sabtuan Adult Education Services and the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Adult Education – Administrative Services, the principal and customary work of the employee consists of performing various technical tasks related to the preparation and implementation of standards as well as performing various tasks of any administrative nature for the purpose of assuring satisfactory administrative and pedagogical operations.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
Receives the public, answers calls, provides and responds to information requests about services, policies, and regulations of departmental activities.
Responds to information requests and follow-up on subjects related to duties.
Receives new employees and informs them of the general working conditions and procedures.
Develops work methods and procedures and oversees their application in the context of the delivery of the current activities in certain sectors.
Maintains and updates filing and registration systems.
Inputs and ensures accuracy of all data regarding students for transmission to MEES through various electronic systems (JADE-TOSCA, TOSCA.NET, Charlemagne, etc.).
Creates and updates the master timetables and student timetables in the required systems.
Activates, maintains and up-dates all student and program files for General and Vocational Education.
Prepares and provides reports from manual or electronic files, inventories and databases for SAES managers.
Collaborates with other Technicians on student file processes.
As needed, works in liaison with Apatisiiwin Skills Development and various entities.
Provides administrative and technical assistance to Education Consultants and teachers regarding student files.
Prepare all required documents for the purpose of internal and external audits; and assist auditors as required.
Assists and counsels students with simple technical problems.
Assists in student support activities.
Participates in, and provides training for users of the GRICS systems;
If need be, performs any other related tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
College diploma (2 years) in an appropriate specialty or equivalent attestation.
Bilingual Cree and English.
Knowledge of the French language is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft and data management systems.
High level of autonomy and strong communication skills.
Detail oriented.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training to develop knowledge and skills.
Willingness to travel.
SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular full-time position.
35 hours/week.
Salary: $22.23/hr to $29.05/hr
Northern Allowance: $8,484 to $13,573
