NATURE OF WORK
Reporting to the Director of Complementary Services, the Administrative Officer – Complementary Services (CS) is responsible for the technical, financial and administrative activities as they relate to the CS programs and policies, in support of the Cree School Board (CSB) mission, vision and goals.
In particular, the Administrative Officer – CS is responsible for providing administrative services and support to the Special Education Services (SES) department and to the Response to Intervention (RTI) department, including budgeting overview, evaluating service offerings, maintaining data and reporting, coordinating training sessions and maintaining supply inventories.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
Contribute to the development and execution of the departmental strategic initiatives and annual action plan.
Develop, monitor and implement departmental activities as per established priorities and budget.
Support the Director of Complementary Services in the development and execution of departmental strategies, objectives, programs and policies. Identify opportunities for adjustment, as required.
Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental processes, internal procedures and policies as requested. Ensure monitoring and compliance in line with key performance measures.
Implement and maintain up-to-date efficient and effective systems, databases/ files and administrative standards that respond to the needs of the department while supporting the overall organization and ensuring alignment with legal and governance requirements.
Ensure availability of relevant data (reports), contribute to analysis and circulate, as required.
Acquire and maintain expertise of relevant organizational processes and systems. Act as a resource in assisting colleagues with regards to timing, requirements and procedures as required.
Establish and maintain effective communications and relations within his/her sector, across the CSB and with external stakeholders.
Provide pertinent information to and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Role-Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for organizing the CS action plans, and ongoing monitoring of the CS action plans (SES and RTI).
Assisting the CS departments in distribution of the specific budgetary funds and monitoring the status of school allocated funds.
Develop monitoring tools related to CS departmental processes, strategies, objectives, programs and policies.
Responsible of the management for all aspects of all CS service agreements.
Guiding the CS staff in developing internal procedures with regards to early prevention, speech and language services, psychoeducational services, Empowertm reading and RTI sequences.
Oversee the development of HDAA students’ profiles, and statistical reports of students with disability codes.
Create and distribute CS year-end reports and create necessary CS presentations and reports requested by stakeholders and senior management.
Ensure the creation of an updated list of school based resource personnel.
Manage the identification and distribution of IT equipment for CS staff and special needs students.
Organize the collation and distribution workshop feedback. Maintain a record of participants for all CS workshops.
Provide professional and technical support to CS employees.
Provide support to schools in applying policies and procedures with respect to selection, orientation, development and evaluation of personnel.
Any other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Participate in resource selection and allocation (including work schedules and leaves), supervision, coaching and professional development for all CS support staff under his/ her direct supervision.
Pursue own professional development in order to enhance personal and organizational capacity and the changing needs of the organization.
Represent department, as required.
Any other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To hold a College degree; University Diploma with an appropriate option is an asset;
3 years of relevant experience;
English is required;
Cree and French are a definite asset;
Travel is required.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Regular, full-time position 35hrs/week
Salary: 68,705.00 – 91,605.00$
Northern Allowance: $8,484 to $13,573
