Job Description
POSITION: FINANCE CLERK
LOCATION: CREE NATION OF WASHAW SIBI (AMOS, QUEBEC)
EMPLOYMENT: PERMANENT FULL-TIME – 35 HOURS PER WEEK
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director General, the Finance Clerk is responsible for recording all revenues and expenses of the Cree Nation of Washaw Sibi. The Finance Clerk performs a wide variety of financial recordkeeping duties. These duties include bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.
Core Functions & Responsibilities
- Process bills, checks, receipts, and other financial documents
- Maintain healthy communication with vendors, clients, members, and staff
- Investigate and resolve inquiries with billing and invoicing
- Track employee benefits (vacation, sick leave, etc.)
- Manage the payroll system and processing paychecks
- Maintain the budgets for operations and special projects
- Prepare various financial reports for management
- Ensure the application of financial policies and procedures
- Perform other financial activities as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of accounting cycle and General Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge in the administration of payroll and employee benefits
- Knowledge in the use of payroll software and accounting systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint…)
Education & Qualification
- College Diploma or University Certificate (Accounting, Finance, Administration)
- Relevant Work Experience or Equivalent Education will be considered
- Ability to speak Cree and/or English; French is an asset
