Job Specifications

The President of the WBC oversees the activities of the entire Corporation, guiding all companies towards achieving the goals and strategies set by the Board of Directors. They are entrusted with ensuring the financial performance and long-term success of WBC, effectively mobilizing its human, financial, and capital resources. Additionally, the President fosters positive relationships with stakeholders and the public, promoting a positive image of the business operations. The WBC oversees Natamuh, Kanio Kashee Lodge, Smokey Hill Grocery Store, Siibii Development Corporation and GeeMan.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to achieve the objectives set for WBC and its subsidiaries, providing both vision and leadership.
  • Direct the organization’s financial goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Support the community’s socio-economic development in a sustainable manner, offering high-quality business services and career opportunities while ensuring self-sufficiency and autonomy.
  • Encourage business investment by communicating the opportunities and risks to the stakeholders.
  • Oversee the investment of funds and manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities.
  • Ensure that the organization’s operations are efficient and deliver quality products and customer service to be recognized as a reliable business partner.
  • Lead, supervise and coach the executive team in the planning, execution and achievement of their respective business plans, as well as their roles as supervisors.
  • Represent the organization internally and externally, such as with partners, government entities, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other associations, industry, and government officials that are in the best interest of the company.
  • Build external network of key stakeholders.

Employment Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related fields.
  • Fluency in Cree and English required, fluency in French is an asset.
  • More than 10 years of experience in management, business development or administration.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to represent the organization externally and work with diverse stakeholders.
